More Undies!

More from the same pack as the other ones.

I thought that tossing those things might motivate me to lose weight.

Well, I went for a walk today. And then ordered a pizza.

*sigh*

Creepy Ducky Tub... and a Hat

Yes I missed a day.

I am doing two things today!

I got kinda busy yesterday and ended up not posting.

Anyways. The duck tub comes from my old neighbor at the apartments we use to live in. It was creepy then, and even after I saw one in the store new in a box it was still creepy.

No I did not inflate it for the picture, I did not want to waste the time.

And the next item is a hat.  I use to look good in it, but now if I wore a hat I would just look silly.

I don't think it is a good pattern for me anyways.

So goodbye Creepy Duck and Old Hat!

White Shirt, Lace

This shirt was a birthday gift about 5 or 6 years ago. It never fit right in the chest and I never wore it past trying it on. I always said I would lose the weight, or do something else with it, but the truth is, I won't.

So Goodbye White Lace Shirt!

I never did look good in white.

Sweater Like Shirt Thing

I bought this when I lived in CA. I think I wore it once or twice. The sleeves are too narrow and feel tight on my arms even though they are insanely long.

It has been carried around in my closet and in a bag for years. I think.... 4 years now.  I have not worn it in that time.

Bye Bye!

Oh, and I have made a change. Until I can go through the boxes that have not been unpacked and find more THINGS that I need to be rid of, each clothing item gets to count for one thing. While I have lots of clothes to be rid of, I need things to post right now.

I am finding that I have little time for unpacking lately. Maybe soon.... Once the garage is not freezing cold. ANd I have more energy.

Undies, pre-Liam

Sadly, my after baby body has not decided to like the cute undies I use to wear. Instead of staring at them and wishing, I decided to just toss them. I can always buy more in the next size up later on.

though they look extra special ugly against that couch cushion. I should have photographed them somewhere else in retrospect, but I am not about to go digging through the trash for them.

Undies are one thing that should NEVER be given away. Just trashed... always trashed. No matter how clean you want to think they are, no one wants to wear YOUR old undies.

That Pink Shirt

I bought this shirt when I needed something with long sleeves to wear under my scrubs when I was working as a phlebotomist.

It came in a package and I could not try it on first.

I got it home, and went to wear it and it was too short. It rolled up in seconds and lived in a roll under my bra. I figured that since I was in scrubs it hardly mattered, but now that I no longer need it for work it is just taking up space.

Good Bye Pink Shirt that Rolls.

Three Days of Stuff

I finally got around to going through more things.

I have been battling a gnarly cold, and needed to not think about anything other than taking care of Liam and myself.

So here we have it.

Pink pants that never fit right and got stained somehow..... I don't even remember how.

An old Google shirt. I liked it, but it is not something I wear anymore. I could say that I am keeping it for dirty jobs, but I have a lot of shirts for things like that.

And a nice skirt. I like this skirt. But I don't fit into it anymore. It is too short, and I have to be honest.... it just does not fit anymore.

Oh, and until I get the strength back from dealing with this cold, it will be clothing disposal. I need to get to some boxes in the garage that are under other boxes and I just do not have the energy to move them right now.

I Wish I could give away SICK!

I am skipping a day. I do not have anything lined up and already photographed, I am sick and do not want to go through things today.

I will do two items tomorrow.

I wish I could put a sore throat in the trash bin.

Today, all I am getting rid of is kleenex, cough drop wrappers and multitudes of tea bags.

Sticky Water Bottle

This was Dan's.

It came with a bike he had.

It lived on my counter for 3 weeks (after spending countless months in closets or a box or who knows where...), and when I picked it up to put it somewhere else, it was sticky. So I asked Dan if he was ever going to use it. He said "probably not". I asked if I could get rid of it. He said Yes!

Yay!

Goodbye Sticky Water Bottle!

Broken Desk Lamp

I got this lamp from an ex. It was slightly broken then, but after being used for a while and I had to keep messing with it to get it to serve its purpose, it broke. Kinda like that relationship.

So goodbye Broken Desk Lamp. The days of you neglecting to hold your position and rotating down and blinding me on the way are done. I used up enough duct tape trying to make you work.

I have since replaced you with a better and more functional desk lamp.

The parallels between this lamp and that ex, and my new lamp and my husband are eerie.

Lets just say I am grateful for the new! It works, does not require extra attention to function normally, and makes me smile when I see it. Dunno why I let this old thing sit around in the closet for so long.

Lost in the Bookshelf

One of those books you get at the airport when you are bored and forgot to bring one from home.

I read it, but didn't care much for the story. No, it isn't the same story as the Bill Murry movie. No offense Nicole Mones. Just not my style.

I will never read it again. Not to mention that somewhere it picked up a smear of Yuck on it. No clue what the Yuck is.

Bye Bye Bookie!

Design Book

In college my teacher was all nuts about a designer needing to change the world with their design, with each design. Each thing you created needed to have a message somewhere for something beyond just being good design and accomplishing what the design was supposed to do.

He also thought that freelance was always the way to go, but I disagreed. I wanted to be part of a company. Have a nice work place, a nice group of people to work with, health insurance, a desk and some set work hours. It just felt more secure to me.

But one of our text books was about having your design make a statement besides just the original concept. I think this was more about rock band posters or things like that. I wound up having an affinity for magazine layout and logo design. I can hardly change the world from an InDesign template and some putzing around in Illustrator.

I never really did agree with some of his idea, and I confess, I was not all that interested in reading the book. It was a class requirement to purchase, but never required to actually read. Other than skimming here and there, I barely opened the cover.

I always said I would read the book later, but find myself totally uninterested now.

So goodbye Book.

Gross Squirt Gun

I got this back in 2005 as a joke with a friend.

Since then, it has been puked on by cats, covered in I don't even wanna know in the bottom of a suitcase for a long time. The suitcase was left open and the cats used it as a bed for a while, until I guess someone had an upset tummy.

It only survived moves because it was hidden in said suitcase. It lived in a garage in CA for a long time in that suitcase.

So, goodbye gross old squirt gun. While you may still work, I am not going to scrape the cat puke off of you to bother using you.

The Ancient Art of HTML

A book from when I was first learning HTML back in 1998.

Now there are programs that do it for you, and while it is good to know how to get in there and tweak things, these methods and teachings are rather outdated.

So goodbye outdated book of HTML!

The Bra with the Wrinkle

One of the nursing bras I got while pregnant with my son. I washed it and it got a wrinkle in one of the pads. Not only does the wrinkle irritate my skin and feel funny, but it looks weird too from under a shirt. Nothing I did made the wrinkle go away!

I am sad about this loss, because I liked these bras, even after Liam had a booby boycott and stopped nursing. They were comfy and fit well and did their intended job with style, grace and support. It may not look like much in the picture, but this was a good bra.

Bye Bye Bra!

Crochet Blanket Parts

I got these from a garage sale in CA when I moved back after college. I bought a bag full of yarn and these were in there. They are some eye blinding colors and I will never use them and I no longer have the time to take apart the pieces to save the yarn.

Goodbye old yarn things!

VHS Movie

Sorry I missed a day! Yesterday just got out of hand in the busy factor, so I am making it up today.

Out of date media... And not even the start of the series anyways.

This has survived too many moves to count.

Goodbye old VHS tape!

Old Purse

This bag served me well. Bought in 2005, it lived as my one and only purse like device until its untimely death in 2007. I held it together with staples, rapid sewing jobs, a metal clip and I think I even used safety pins at one point.

Since 2007 it has been living in my closet. It survived 5 moves.

Goodbye!

Polaroid Mini Camera Thinggie

This piece of clutter was bought for me back in 2000 by an ex of mine.

It has been filmless, unused and collecting dust through 9 moves.

Goodbye!

Glitter Snow Globe

The first thing that I am getting rid of...

A low on water, glitter filled picture snow globe.

This lovely item has been in my stuff for almost 5 years now, I forget who gave it to me, but I think it was from a Christmas stocking.

I have never put a picture in it, nor cared to display it anywhere. It has been carted from California, to another house in California, to Utah and then to Oregon. Somehow it survived 6 moves.

It has a little slot in the bottom to put a picture in the plastic gap in the middle of it.

It is time to go.
